HTP in briefWho we are and how it all started |
About HTPGetting StartedHighTech Passport, Ltd. (HTP) was started in April 1992 by two localization specialists from Distinct Corporation, a company based in Saratoga, California, which developed software and offered localization services since 1985. HTP continued providing high-quality translation and localization services to the existing clientele and steadily developed, extending its network of language specialists and domains of expertise to offer today a complete range of services to a growing number of customers. VisionWe believe pro-active thinking and professionalism at expert level to be the cornerstones of high-quality, cost- and time-efficient localization. We consider that HTP's main strength lies in its dynamism, flexibility, and high degree of customization. Our quest is to adapt the localization process to the particularities of our customers and of their products. Our strategy is geared towards promoting and improving custom-tailored localization. Pro-active analysis of the product from the localization perspective, appropriate selection of the localization team, detail-oriented preparation, closely controlled project management, and careful multiple cross-checks are just a few factors which allow us to give your localized products the “extra edge” they deserve. High-quality localization does not have to be high-cost localization. Pro-active thinking presupposes the flexibility to customize the localization process for maximum cost-efficiency and shortest time to market. In-house teamThe in-house team includes language experts, software localization engineers, multilingual DTP specialists, project managers, and support personnel. Our language experts all hold degrees in linguistics and technical translation in their native language and are fluent in at least two other languages. They are lead translators and language or project managers and also coordinate and support the translation activity of our international translator network. Our technical localization specialists hold degrees in engineering and are also multilingual. Their activity includes all technical aspects of localization like software localization, multilingual DTP, and testing, as well as the support of the company's network of computers. All technical localization tasks are performed by experienced specialists with long-time in-house training for a better quality control. European branchThe search for cost-effective localization solutions in a dynamically changing market climate and the increased need for Central and Eastern European translation resources called for HTP’s growth in a new direction. Benefiting from our extensive experience in these countries and especially in Romania, we accomplished the long-time goal of opening a Romanian branch in 2003. Translator networkOver the years we have built a worldwide in-country translator network to ensure a high degree of cultural acceptability, seamless linguistic integration, and compliance with the latest developments of the rapidly changing terminology for the products we localize. All the language specialists we use translate into their native language in order to provide the most accurate translations while maintaining an excellent style and grammar. Presently, our worldwide network of technical language experts translate into most languages of Europe, Latin-America and Asia. Among the 38 languages that we support, the most frequently requested are German, French and Canadian French, Spanish, Italian, Japanese, Brazilian and European Portuguese, Dutch, Swedish, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Korean, Russian, Turkish, Danish, Norwegian, and Finnish. Less frequently requested target languages include Arabic, Hebrew, Thai, Polish, Greek, Czech, Hungarian, Slovak, Slovenian, Romanian, Vietnamese, Catalan, Indonesian and Basque. |
