I. Primary responsibilities
Coordinate localization projects
Track project progress in terms of time,quality, and cost
Assign, instruct, train, support, and supervise localization teams
Interact with technical staff and linguists
Manage terminology (glossaries, style guides, etc.)
Recruit freelance linguists
II. Education and experience
A Bachelor's degree in translation, business,or related field
Applicants must have a minimum of 6 months experience directly related to project coordination. A few months to a few years experience in the localization industry is a plus.
III. Knowledge, skills, and abilities
Knowledge of at least one foreign language at close to native level
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
Proven skills in project planning, resource and risk management
Strong team player in a multi-language/multi-cultural environment
Self-starting, pro-active attitude
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines under pressure
Proficiency in word processing, project management, and communication tools
Interest in new technologies and new tools
Proficiency in translation memory tools (Trados, SDLX, etc.) is a definite plus!
