Localization Project Coordinator

I. Primary responsibilities

  • Coordinate localization projects
  • Track project progress in terms of time,quality, and cost
  • Assign, instruct, train, support, and supervise localization teams
  • Interact with technical staff and linguists
  • Manage terminology (glossaries, style guides, etc.)
  • Recruit freelance linguists
  • II. Education and experience

  • A Bachelor's degree in translation, business,or related field
  • Applicants must have a minimum of 6 months experience directly related to project coordination. A few months to a few years experience in the localization industry is a plus.
  • III. Knowledge, skills, and abilities

  • Knowledge of at least one foreign language at close to native level
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
  • Organization skills
  • Proven skills in project planning, resource and risk management
  • Problem-solving capabilities
  • Quality-and detail-oriented
  • Strong team player in a multi-language/multi-cultural environment
  • Self-starting, pro-active attitude
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines under pressure
  • Proficiency in word processing, project management, and communication tools
  • Interest in new technologies and new tools
  • Proficiency in translation memory tools (Trados, SDLX, etc.) is a definite plus!
