As a Software Localization/Internationalization Engineer you will:
- assist in analyzing projects to identify potential;
- localization/internationalization problems;
- evaluate time and resources for localization engineering work;
- create translation kits;
- configure hardware for PC, Macintosh, and Linux systems;
- run and test localized user interfaces;
- participate in the resizing and debugging of localized software products for PC, Macintosh, and Linux platforms;
- participate in internationalization/bidirectionalization projects;
- troubleshoot engineering components;
- work on automating localization processes;
- participate in the improvement of the localization engineering process, especially in bidi engineering;
- evaluate and verify the integration of internal bidi engineering scripts;
- contribute to the development of internal bidi localization tools;
- research, prescribe, and participate in the implementation of bidi localization engineering tools;
- integrate and monitor the performance of new bidi engineering tools;
- interact internally with other departments and with our branch office in Romania;
- provide technical guidance for our personnel and for our worldwide network of linguists.
As a Software Localization/Internationalization Engineer you have:
- Bachelor's degree or its foreign equivalent in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field of study;
- internationalization and localization engineering expertise with bidirectional languages;
- working knowledge of a bidirectional language;
- proficiency in bidirectional language systems and right-to-left scripts;
- the habit of working independently;
- strong initiative;
- good communication skills;
- familiarity with PC, Mac and Linux systems, applications, and on-line services.
