Localization Project Manager


Primary responsibilities

  • Manage localization projects, assigning tasks and projecting time lines
  • Develop project strategy (project kits, project plans, selection of linguistic resources)
  • Track project progress in terms of time, quality, and costs
  • Interact with multilingual and technical resources
  • Screen, evaluate, and support linguistic resources
  • Assign, instruct, train, and supervise localization teams
  • Help in training new or junior in-house linguists, coordinators, PMs

Education & experience

  • BS in translation, business, or related field
  • 2-3 years of experience directly related to project management in the localization industry

Knowledge, skills, abilities

  • Skills in project planning, resource, and risk management
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
  • Knowledge of a foreign language at native level a plus
  • Proficiency in translation memory tools (Trados, SDLX) a definite plus
  • Proficiency in word processing, project management, and communication tools
  • Strong team player in a multi-language/multi-cultural environment
  • Problem-solving capabilities
  • Quality- and detail-oriented
  • Organization and leadership skills
  • Self-starting, pro-active attitude
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines under pressure
  • Interest in new technologies and new tools
