Primary responsibilities
- Manage localization projects, assigning tasks and projecting time lines
- Develop project strategy (project kits, project plans, selection of linguistic resources)
- Track project progress in terms of time, quality, and costs
- Interact with multilingual and technical resources
- Screen, evaluate, and support linguistic resources
- Assign, instruct, train, and supervise localization teams
- Help in training new or junior in-house linguists, coordinators, PMs
Education & experience
- BS in translation, business, or related field
- 2-3 years of experience directly related to project management in the localization industry
Knowledge, skills, abilities
- Skills in project planning, resource, and risk management
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
- Knowledge of a foreign language at native level a plus
- Proficiency in translation memory tools (Trados, SDLX) a definite plus
- Proficiency in word processing, project management, and communication tools
- Strong team player in a multi-language/multi-cultural environment
- Problem-solving capabilities
- Quality- and detail-oriented
- Organization and leadership skills
- Self-starting, pro-active attitude
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines under pressure
- Interest in new technologies and new tools
