Project Coordinator


Native languages: French, Italian, German, Spanish, Dutch, Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, Portuguese, or Korean

Responsibilities:

    Linguistic tasks:

    • Translate and edit documentation, interface, on-line help systems, websites, marketing/packaging material, and miscellaneous material
    • Perform linguistic QA (testing, proofreading)
    • Manage terminology (create glossaries, write style guides, etc.)
    • Interact with technical staff

    Coordination tasks:

    • Screen and evaluate linguistic resources
    • Interact with multilingual resources
    • Coordinate small localization projects
    • Assist Project Managers

    Education & experience:

    • BA in translation (preferably in technical translation)
    • 2 years of work experience directly related to translation (preferably IT and/or medical) OR
    • 1 year of coordination/management experience

    Knowledge, skills, abilities:

    • Excellent knowledge of target language
    • Good verbal and written English communication skills
    • Proficiency in translation memory tools (Trados, SDLX or similar)
    • Proficiency in word processing and communication tools
    • Familiarity with DTP tools (FrameMaker) is a plus
    • Quality- and detail-oriented approach
    • Self-starting, pro-active attitude
    • Problem-solving capabilities
    • Strong team player in a multi-language/multi-cultural environment
    • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines under pressure
    • Interest in new technologies and new tools
